"The memories that stay with us are the ones that make us deeply feel something, surprise us, engage all our senses, and touch who we really are."

Another travel blog? About a city like Berlin? After all, there are already countless websites, apps, and social media posts about all the highlights and must-see sights — and just as many platforms listing all the activities you absolutely have to do.

1,000 tips for just one weekend in Berlin.

And that is exactly why I am writing this blog. This page is not about the thousand things Berlin has to offer. Nor is it about the same top ten sightseeing highlights over and over again (Brandenburg Gate to Victory Column — yes, I get it).

Off Track Visits beschreibt eine kleine persönliche Auswahl von Orten, Unternehmungen und Tipps, die mich nachhaltig beeindruckt haben. Hier existiert keine Vollständigkeit, keine Hypes, kein „fit for all“. Ich mag das ruhige, kreative, persönliche, hundefreundliche Berlin.

I’m not really into selfie sticks, hop-on hop-off buses, or souvenir shops. I want to get to know a city and its people — not consume it at high speed. Crowds of tourists, soulless attractions, and places where you immediately sense: not a single local would ever come here voluntarily.

Maybe you feel the same way?

I’m looking for what’s real. For what isn’t interchangeable. Real people with ideas and passion, rather than pure business plans and franchise concepts. Experiences and places I’ll remember for a long time — not ones I visit just to collect likes on social media.

What I’m looking for are small places and initiatives with character — cafés, exhibitions, projects, or venues run with passion, chaos, and creativity. Places where you can feel that there are real people behind it, people who truly love what they do.

So if you’re not in the mood to push your way through the same Instagram hotspots, but instead want to get to know the city — and its people — and take a moment to breathe in between, then you’re in exactly the right place.

One more note about the easy-language summaries: Sometimes I like to play a bit with language, but I also know this can exclude people. That’s why I add a short summary in simple language to some articles.

Enough about that. Enjoy my tips, let me know what you think, and feel free to share your personal highlights from your trip 🙂 Greetings from Berlin
